burnt pitta bread, 200 x 300 x 100 cm (size varies with installation)
Central Saint Martins, London / North House Gallery, Manningtree / Firstsite at the Minories Art Gallery, Colchester

Between Something and Nothing is concerned with transformation and transience. The blackened oval shapes in the large sprawling pile are pitta bread, burnt to the point of near destruction. The process of burning acts as an instrument of change, reflecting on the transforming and entropic potential of materials.
